Becky Wiskirchen, MA, BCBA

 

Becky Wiskirchen is a Behavior Analyst at ACCEL, a special education private day school. She also supervises in-home ABA programs for children diagnosed with autism. She holds a Bachelors degree from Colorado State University in psychology and a Masters degree from the University of Chicago in Social Sciences.

Previously, Becky worked as a behavior therapist providing in home services in both the Phoenix and Chicago metropolitan areas. She has extensive experience using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Pivotal Response Training (PRT) to teach both academic and social skills.

At ACCEL, Becky's primary services include creating Individual Behavior Intervention Plans, developing staff trainings on evidence based behavior management techniques and teaching styles, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), implementing real time data collection system for IEP goals, assisting teachers in writing objective and measurable IEP goals, training school personnel in the application of the principles of ABA in the classroom, and training new staff in techniques of safety restraints through the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention program (TCI- Cornell University).

Her research interests include the discipline of Applied Behavior Analysis, functional behavior assessment, treatment of severe behavior problems, parent, teacher and paraprofessional training in ABA, and effective teaching strategies in the classroom.
